  • Profile: Soar Valley Ltd was established by Ian Rutherford and Erik Napier in August 2000. Our initial manufacturing outlet was opened in the former BUSM buildings in the Ross Walk Industrial Estate in Leicester. Originally, with two production operatives, Kevin Moore and Bernard Eversfield manufacturing was geared around producing our range of Excel Filter Elements, and it was not unusual to find Erik or Ian working on the manufacturing side of the operation in order to ensure orders were completed on time. From the outset, one of our major customers was DCE Donaldson's, the Dutch based manufacturers of specialised Dust Extraction Units. Through our first year and a half we continued to produce Excel Filter Elements for DCE and in the Spring of 2002 we branched out and took on part of DCE's, previously in-house, Unicell project. Dce's Unicell filter elements are designed and manufactured specifically for their own Dust Extraction Units, however, because of our impeccable punctuality and excellent manufacturing standards Soar Valley now build several different types of filter element for DCE, under exclusive licence.
